Student organizations from the University of Arkansas hosted an anti-racism protest on the school’s Fayetteville campus Mar. 13.
Members of the Black Graduate Student Association, Black Law Student Association, Students Advocating Stronger Sisterhood and the University of Arkansas NAACP participated in a peaceful march from Fulbright Cafeteria to the Gearhart Courtyard. Organizers called for “the removal of racist symbols and names” from campus including former U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright and former Arkansas governor Charles H. Brough, according to a press release.
Obed Lamy, a graduate student in the UA’s School of Journalism and Strategic Media, attended the protest and captured these sights and sounds from the event.
